Diving

The ASA has undertaken an extensive review of all its diving award test conditions and introduced a new scheme of awards. The new-look awards follow on from a review and update of the National Plan for Teaching Swimming. They had considerable input from Great Britain’s leading diving teachers and coaches as well as diving clubs across the country.

Under the new structure, grades have been replaced by levels and the original starting points – preliminary, Grade 1 and Grade 2 have been replaced by Stages 8, 9 & 10 of the NPTS, which fall into line with Flip n Fun - the grass roots introduction to the sport’s FUNdamentals.

They are designed to give pupils an early introduction to diving skills including underwater confidence and body awareness.
