Flip n Fun

Flip n Fun has been created for children between the ages of five and eleven who would like to experience diving and learn new skills in a fun and safe environment. It provides a structured programme for teaching diving and progresses from learning dryland skills to pool diving skills. Pool based activities can take place in any pool over 1.8m in depth.

Flip n Fun is the first stage in a successful diving development pathway designed to offer youngsters initial access to the sport. Talent development through motivation and reward and an opportunity to compete in a club environment, ultimately aims to put Britain’s athletes onto the Olympic podiums of the future.

Flip n Fun introduces children to FUNdamental Movement Skills, the first stage of the Long-term Athlete Development (LTAD) model. The LTAD model has six stages and provides a pathway for recreational and performance divers to develop core skills at each level before progressing to the next. These FUNdamental core skills introduced through Flip n Fun can also be transferred between different sports providing variety to lessons in schools and clubs.

A short CPD course is available that enables qualified swimming teachers to learn the skills and teaching points needed to run a Flip n Fun festival or incorporate Flip n Fun into a learn to swim programme.
