The Swim England Learn to Swim Stage 9 Swimming Award is the second Award in the Aquatic Skills Framework when a learner takes part in competitive swimming.
During this Stage, learners will be able to perform a start for each of the four strokes, kicking with a streamlined position water up to 15 metres and then finishing the remainder of the 25 metres. Learners will also be able to swim 800 metres using one stroke.
Whilst working through Learn to Swim Stage 9 Swimming Award, learners also achieve the Swimming Challenge Silver Award, Rainbow Distance 600m and Rainbow Distance 800m Awards.
