The Swim England Water Skills 1 Award can be achieved by a learner who is working through the Learn to Swim Framework.
To achieve this award, learners should be able to perform 8 of the 10 required skills (or six for those with a SEND), with the use of floatation equipment. These skills include traveling on the back and front for a minimum distance of 5m and being able to enter the water safely from poolside.
